Founded in 2015 as Seoul National University Hospital’s first official venture, MEDICAL IP is developing AI technology that transforms 2D medical images into detailed 3D digital representations of the human body. The company aims to extend the use of medical imaging beyond diagnostic support to preventive care, surgical simulation, and anatomy education.
Its core platform analyzes medical images and reconstructs anatomical structures as high-resolution 3D digital twins. DeepCatch X, for example, uses a chest X-ray to generate 3D information about organs and blood vessels. The article reports that the technology was developed by training on paired X-ray and CT images.

MEDICAL IP has collaborated with NVIDIA for approximately six years. Its 3D human models can be connected to NVIDIA Omniverse, where they can be visualized in a detailed, interactive simulation environment. The article describes this work as a potential foundation for future applications involving AI agents and physical AI.
The company is also developing recurring revenue models, including per-case fees and subscriptions. DeepCatch X analyzes chest X-rays to assess the heart and aorta, while DeepCatch C uses CT scans to quantify body composition and other anatomical structures. The company plans to use these products to strengthen its business in the health screening market.
MEDICAL IP’s longer-term vision is to build human digital twins from medical data and expand into simulation and predictive healthcare. The article also reports that the company is preparing to pursue a KOSDAQ listing.
