Medical IP, a global digital twin platform company powered by artificial intelligence (AI), announced that it has appointed Park Geun-joo, a seasoned executive with leadership experience across both private enterprises and public organizations, as a new Independent Director at its shareholders' meeting held on the 19th.
With the appointment of Park, Medical IP plans to accelerate its transformation from a technology-focused company into an AI-powered digital twin global healthcare platform company. The company will focus on strengthening its subscription-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business model, expanding partnerships with hospitals and educational institutions worldwide, enhancing organizational management capabilities, and developing new growth engines through strategic business initiatives.

Park Geun-joo is a veteran executive who has served in various leadership positions, including Director of the Technical Education Institute at the Korea Specialty Contractors Financial Cooperative, CEO of EWOO C&C, President of Hangang Cruise, CEO of Ushellcom, CEO of Korail Tourism Development, and CEO of L&K Biomed.
Founded in 2015 as the first in-hospital venture company established within Seoul National University Hospital, Medical IP has been pioneering the fields of medical image analysis and digital anatomy through its AI-based digital twin technologies.
The company offers a range of innovative solutions, including DeepCatch C, a CT-based opportunistic screening and body composition analysis solution; DeepCatch X, an X-ray-based quantitative analysis and opportunistic screening solution; and MEDIP BOX, an immersive digital anatomy platform. Through these solutions, Medical IP continues to introduce new paradigms in preventive healthcare and medical education.
In particular, the company is enhancing its AI digital twin visualization and simulation capabilities through integration with NVIDIA Omniverse technology, positioning itself as a next-generation global healthcare platform company powered by medical AI and XR technologies, including virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR).
The safety and effectiveness of Medical IP's technologies have been validated through approvals and clearances from the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In addition, the company has demonstrated its technological leadership through more than 170 SCI-indexed academic publications, earning recognition from both the medical community and academia.
