MEDICAL IP participates in Korean Association of Anatomists… First appearance of HMD combined VR anatomy content

▶ Continuing collaboration for the development of digital anatomy after signing the MEDICAL IP-Korean Association of Anatomists MOU last year

▶ Various lineups unveiled, led by ‘MDBOX’, a VR (virtual reality) platform for anatomy education

MEDICAL IP participated in the <73rd Korean Association of Anatomists> held at the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju.

At this conference, MEDICAL IP presented a diverse lineup of ‘MDBOX,’ a medical education platform that enables dissection practice by implementing 3D digitized anatomical structures in virtual reality (VR).

MDBOX is a platform that implements virtual reality content for anatomy education. All types of anatomical information can be experienced in virtual reality, including organs such as bones, muscles, heart, and brain, as well as microstructures such as eyes, ears, blood vessels, and alveoli, heart movements, blood flow, digestion, and breathing processes.

Anatomy education is in high demand not only in medical fields such as medical schools and public health schools, but also in arts and physical education fields, but practical education has been limited due to economic and ethical issues in using cadavers and difficulties in storage and management.

Among these, MDBOX presents an advanced anatomy practice education solution by expanding the digital twin of human body information with VR technology. MDBOX is being used at Seoul National University, Jeju National University, and Chungbuk National University College of Medicine, and anatomy studies that were previously conducted using cadavers for dissection It helps overcome the limitations of hands-on education.

During this conference, MEDICAL IP held a luncheon seminar to actively publicize MDBOX's differentiated VR solutions. At the luncheon, Professor Hyeong-Jin Choi of Seoul National University College of Medicine presented on <Anatomy practice and elective course experience using MDBOX>, and Professor Sang-Pil Yoon of Jeju National University College of Medicine presented on <How to use virtual reality equipment in anatomy education at a medical school>.

In particular, MEDICAL IP, which was the first to introduce ‘MDBOX HMD’, which combines HMD (Head-mounted Display) and VR anatomy content, plans to respond to the demand for diverse anatomy training by significantly increasing accessibility to anatomy and expand sales in the global market.

Regarding this, MEDICAL IP CEO Park Sang-joon said, “As anatomy education is the basis for the development of medicine, the company will expand MDBOX’s lineup in line with the purpose and level of education and respond to unmet demand in the field of anatomy education. We will continue to introduce solutions that allow anyone to easily and accurately understand human body information and lead the development of the medical industry beyond medical education.”
